Dr. Niveditha Arun is an accomplished Veena artist, performer, and teacher with over 15 years of experience in Carnatic music. She is a disciple of Dr. Shobana Swaminathan, Chennai, a Top Grade All India Radio (AIR) artist.
She has completed her Master’s Degree, M.Phil., and Ph.D. in Veena, under Madras University and Vels University respectively. In recognition of her contribution to Veena music and for mentoring students for Laghu Rangapravesham, she was honoured with the Kala Sadhana Award by M.S. Natyakshetra.
Dr. Niveditha Arun has collaborated with artists across India and was a recipient of the Indian Raga Fellowship for two consecutive years. She has won First Prize in the Sarvabharatiya Sanskriti Parishad (Senior Veena Instrumental Category) and First Place in the International Margazhi Music Competition (Senior Category) conducted by The Hindu.
She has performed in several prestigious venues and sabhas including The Madras Music Academy, Narada Gana Sabha (Veena Mahotsav), Chennai, Deepavali Sangeethotsavam at Bekal Goshala, Kasargod, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Hyderabad for Kuchipudi Rangapravesham, R.V. Rangamandira Sabha, Parvur Mookambika Temple, the 108 Veena Performance at Madurai Meenakshi Temple, Thiruvarur, Thiruvaiyaru Thyagaraja Sannidhi, and many temples across South India.
Dr. Niveditha Arun continues her journey as a full-time musician, performer, researcher, and educator, dedicated to promoting and preserving the rich tradition of Veena in Carnatic music.
